Refinement of the MEDUSA icon, part of the rebranding of the VERSACE identity by Savvy Studio. A mythological figure, whose name derives from the Greek µέδω “to protect”, the Medusa is an allegory for the power of the gaze.

This reinterpretation is based on the original bronze head that graces the entry doors of Versace’s Palazzo in Via Gesù, and on the Neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova’s head of Medusa, on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.

Restyling and refinement of the VERMOUTH DEL PROFESSORE label system. Original ILLUSTRATIONS, custom lettering, and LABEL COMPOSITIONS were reworked to preserve the brand’s handmade, enigmatic character while enhancing hierarchy and legibility.
